SANAA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The Saudi-led coalition’s leadership demanded on Thursday the tribal and sheikhs of Marib province to hand over all medium and heavy weapons.
According to sources, the coalition would assign the leader of the Islah party, and the Interior Ministry’s deputy in Hadi government, Mohammad Salem bin Aboud al-Sharif, to inventory the weapons if the Marib tribes and sheikhs rejected to hand over.
The source indicated that the coalition seeks to extract weapons of the sheikhs, and hand them over for Islah Party to be used in the confrontations with the Sana’a forces in the vicinity of the city.
Several sheikhs and tribes of the province held a meeting to refuse the coalition’s request handing over the weapons, the sources added.
