Saudi authorities close 87 mosques due to Covid-19

SANAA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The Saudi authorities on Wednesday temporarily closed  eight mosques in four regions after 10 cases of corona virus were confirmed among worshippers, bringing the number of closed mosques to 78.

The authorities confirmed on its official Page on Twitter, Wednesday evening, that the total of what was closed in 10 days reached 87 mosques, 70 of which were opened after the completion of sterilization, in the framework of ensuring the health of the worshippers and providing them with the highest standards of safety.

They stated that it closed mosques, three in Riyadh area, where 4 cases of corona infection were detected in the same city, three cases in Al-Jawf area, one case in the governorate in Tabuk district, and two cases in Jizan area.

The ministry pointed out that eight mosques were opened, on Wednesday, after the completion of all precautionary measures of sterilization and maintenance, four mosques in Riyadh area, and and four others in the areas of Medina, Alsharqiya, Baha and  Tabuk.
