SANAA, Feb. 17(YPA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the ball is in the US court and the Biden administration should practically lift the entire embargo to get the nuclear deal back on track.
President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday said that some necessary actions must be taken for the Swiss financial channel and make the joint projects that have been stopped due to the US’ policies operational.
Rouhani held a phone talk with his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin discussing issues of mutual interest, including the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), bilateral ties, as well as regional security and stability.
He termed Tehran-Bern relations as deep, noting that the mutual ties need to be expanded.
Bilateral relations have been satisfactory in various political, cultural, and economic areas including transportation, health, medicine, agriculture as well as science and technology, even under the circumstances of the imposed sanctions, he pointed out.
Rouhani affirmed Iran is readiness to take steps to build confidence in the Gulf if the region’s countries have the will.
He stressed that the destabilization of security in the region dealt a blow to all its states as well as Europe.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also called for an urgent ceasefire in Yemen, sending humanitarian aid and stopping the sending of weapons to some countries in the region. He also called for a dialogue between Yemenis as a final solution to the country’s security and stability.
According to the Iranian presidency, the Swiss president has pledged to transfer Iran’s frozen funds in some countries of the world to the Swiss channel.
For his part, the Swiss president stressed that the current international circumstances are an opportunity for all parties to return to the nuclear agreement and implement their commitments and Switzerland can play an active role in this.
