Mahra tribes send strong blow to Saudi-Emirates forces

MAHRA, Feb. 10 (YPA) – Tribes and sheikhs of Mahra province sent on Wednesday a strong blow to Saudi-Emirates occupation forces in the province.

According to sources familiar with the province, Sheikh Abdullah bin Afrar loyal to the Saudi-Emirates forces failed in organizing a political event in the province.

The sources affirmed that Bin Afrar organized in the event courtyard of his house, which is located in the city of al-Ghaydah, mid great rejection by the province’s sheikhs to bring to the event.

The members of the General Council for the Sons of Al-Mahra and Socotra, including dozens of sheikhs, had overthrown Sheikh Abdullah bin Afrar, at the end of last December, after the he was accused of colluding with Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Socotra.

On December,2020, the members of the General Council held an extended meeting to appoint Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al Afrar as Chairman of the Council.
