America stops providing advice, intelligence to Saudi Arabia

SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said, on Friday evening, that US President Joe Biden’s order to end support for military operations in Yemen ends the exchange of intelligence information and the provision of advice to Saudi forces.

“The Defense Department has been providing some limited noncombat assistance to coalition operations that includes intelligence, some advice and best practices,” Kirby said during a press briefing.

The Pentagon spokesman added: As a result of the president’s order, on Thursday, everything has been ended, but the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is still a partner in the fight against terrorism in the region.
Biden said, on Thursday, that the United States is halting all support for Saudi-led offensive operations in Yemen, but will continue to defend its ally against other threats.
Biden also pledged to intensify diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict by peaceful means, and appointed veteran diplomat Timothy Lenderking as his special envoy to Yemen.
