ABYAN, Feb. 05 (YPA) – The Saudi-backed Islah party sent on Friday military reinforcements to Abyan province, southern Yemen, according to sources.
The sources affirmed that the party pushed dozens of its militants coming from Sabwah province to Shakra and al-Araqob area of Abyan.
The Islah military reinforcement aimed at imposing the military siege on Aden city and the control of the strategic areas of al-Mudharaba and Ras al-Ara near Bab al-Mandab strait.
Meanwhile, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) directed its militia to deploy in Tour Al-Baha area and created a number of military sites and fortifications to confront the militants of the Islah-affiliated Taiz axis.
This moves came after the implementation of the military part of the so-called “Riyadh Agreement, which has provided bringing military battalions of Islah to Aden under the pretext of protecting the Hadi’s government headquarters in al-Mashiq Palace.
