Violent clashes broke out in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Relative calm has returned to the streets of Aden city, south of Yemen, after violent clashes that broke out during the early hours on Friday, according to sources.

The sources affirmed that the clashes happened in Sheikh Othman city among the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias.

The sources attributed the confrontations that used various weapons between elements of the STC armed factions on the plundering of land in the same area.

According to the sources, the STC militia carried out a widespread deployment of dozens of military vehicles in most of the city’s streets, and clashes are likely to resume again in the coming hours.
