Syria declares standing by China against any interference in its affairs

DAMASCUS, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Syria declared on Thursday that it would stand by China against any attempts to interfere in its internal affairs.

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted a source in the Syrian Foreign Ministry as saying: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirms that Syria stands by the friendly People’s Republic of China against any attempts to interfere in its internal affairs.”

The source expressed, in a statement, Syria’s strong condemnation and categorical rejection of the US policy and the positions of its officials towards China.

The statement renewed Syria’s adherence to the one-China principle and standing by China against any attempts to interfere in its internal affairs, in contradiction to the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter, especially in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Xinjiang.
