Russia extends “START-3” Treaty to reduce nuclear weapons with US
MOSCOW, Jan. 27 (YPA) – The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Ryabkov, announced on Wednesday the completion of the agreement between Russia and the United States regarding the extension of the “START-3” treaty.
Ryabkov told reporters in Moscow that Russia welcomes the decision of the US President Joe Biden’s administration to extend the Treaty on Strategic Arms Reduction “START-3.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister considered that extending the treaty is the only correct decision for America and Russia.
“This is the right decision, and it was made on Moscow’s terms,” he said, adding “We have a large margin of time to initiate and conduct in-depth bilateral negotiations on a full range of issues affecting strategic stability, to ensure the reliable security of our state for a long time to come.”
Ryabkov’s remarks came after Russian President Vladimir Putin mandated the Russian Foreign Ministry to conduct negotiations with the United States regarding the extension of START-3 treaty.
