SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf discussed on Saturday with the World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Yemen, Laurent Bukera, the program’s activities in Yemen for 2021.
In the meeting, Sharaf stated that the continuation of the aggression and the comprehensive siege has doubled the repercussions of the humanitarian disaster in Yemen.
The Foreign Minister noted to the noticeable increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian aid, including the displaced, which requires more humanitarian aid.
For his part, the WFP Resident Representative pointed out that the problem lies in the lack of funding by donors, which clearly has a negative impact on the program’s plans to provide aid and support to the Yemeni people.
