MAHRAH, Jan. 9 (YPA) – Emeriti intelligence experts and officers have arrived in Mahrah province, in eastern Yemen.
Sheikh Hamid Zabenot chairman of the sit-in committee in the Shahin district confirmed that an Emirati ship had arrived at the port of Nishtun carrying Emirati intelligence officers and figures.
He said in a tweet that the arrival of UAE intelligence officers comes after Saudi forces prevented commercial ships from entering the port in recent days.
Zabenot pointed out that the arrival of the UAE intelligence officers came as part of the plans of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to control the southern and western ports of Yemen.
In early May 2019, security services in Oman arrested an Emirati spy cell led by Dubai’s ruler Mohammed bin Rashid, with the aim of hindering the development of the ports of Duqm and Sohar, competitors of the UAE ports.
