Pro-coalition commander escapes assassination attempt in Hodeida

HODEIDA, Jan. 09 (YPA) – Commander of the so-called “Al-Amaliqa Brigade” Mohammed Ali al-Salehi “Abu Osama” loyal to Saudi-led coalition escaped on Saturday an assassination attempt in the west coast in Hodeida province.

Abu Osama survived an assassination attempt when an explosive device went off while his military convoy was passing during his visit to the sites of the coalition militants in Al-Tuhita district, a local source told Yemen Press Agency.

The explosion did not cause any casualties, the source added.

Observers suggest that comes within the continuation of targeting the Al-Amaliqa brigades’ commanders in the west coast by militants of Tariq Afash backed by the UAE and Tihama tribesmen.
