Attempt to smuggle 25 tons of domestic gas in Sanaa thwarted

SANAA, Jan. 06 (YPA) – Police Forces in Saafan district in Sanaa province on Thursday foiled an attempt to smuggle 25 tons of domestic gas on board a gas tanker.

The police forces’ administration in the district stated that the tanker’s driver tried to give the security point personnel an amount of one million riyals as a bribe in exchange for allowing him to pass.

The driver admitted that the gas quantity was smuggled from the central Saafan station, to be sold on the black market in Hodeida province, the police administration added.

The tanker with the driver were referred to the competent authority.
