ADEN, Jan. 7 (YPA) – A security official was injured when an improvised explosive device exploded on Wednesday evening in the southern port city of Aden, local sources said.
According to the sources, a sticky bomb exploded and targeted the vehicle belonging to the Colonel Mohammed Commander Aweidha, director of al-Drin police station.
The explosion left the colonel wounded along with his son. They were taken to hospital.
The targeting of the director of al-Drin police station coincided with another explosion in Block 10 in Mansoura district, but no casualties were reported, according to local residents.
Taher Mas’ad al-Oqla, a member of the so-called UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), warned of a new wage of assassinations to come in Aden and the southern provinces.
According to al-Oqla, the assassinations, which will be led by the Muslim Brotherhood militia in order to eliminate the southern leaders after these gangs failed in all their plans to thwart the Riyadh agreement.
