Fierce confrontation erupt in Bayda

ABYAN, Jan. 6 (YPA) – Military confrontation broke out on Wednesday between the Saudi-led coalition forces and the Yemeni army in Bayda province, according to sources.

The sources affirmed that the army waged a counter-attack against attempts by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council STC) militias to advance towards Al-Atf area of Mukairas district.

The sources indicated that the coalition forces fired artillery stationed in the Souma Mountains at al-Uqla and al-Atf villages of the province after being failed to advance.

The Sana’a forces advanced, hours after they repelled an failed attempt by the coalition, towards the sites of Amajid Brigade in Souma area in the same province, the sources added.
