SANAA, Jun. 6 (YPA) – A 6.2 magnitude earthquake on Wednesday hit New Zealand’s Kermadec Islands.
The US Geological Survey said in a statement that “the earthquake struck at a depth of 26.12 kilometers at a latitude of 29.0707 degrees south and longitude 176.8993 degrees west.”
New Zealand is located in a seismically active region in the Pacific Ocean, known as the Ring of Fire, which stretches for 40,000 km.
