Military Islah actions in Shabwa heralds bloody confrontations

SHABWA, Jan. 05 (YPA) – Islah Party’s militants have established a number of military sites and points in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

“Bulldozers have established earthen barriers in Lahiya district of Habban district, with protection from military crews of the Islah party,” local sources reported.

The checkpoints were set up as military points belonging to the Islah party, the sources explained, indicating that a citizen objected to the checkpoints established on land owned by citizens of neighboring villages in the area, which angered the military forces and prompted them to arrest him and take him to an unknown destination.

Observers believe that the establishment of military sites comes within the framework of the Islah party’s preparations for new military confrontations with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s militias in the province, which is located in the most important Yemeni economic facility, Balhaf LNG facility, which is controlled by the Emirati forces.
