NCM expects continuation of cold weather in coming hours

SANAA, Jan. 05 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Tuesday expected the continuation of cold weather in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

The center said in its weather bulletin that parts of the mountainous provinces, deserts and interior plateaus are still affected by the cold air mass.

The cold to very cold weather and dry during the night and early morning will continue on the mountainous heights of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda, the center elaborated.

It stated that the weather would be cold in general in the high-altitude areas of Dhalea, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah and Hadramout provinces, as well as the desert areas, with the continuation of the decline in low temperatures during the next two days.

The center also expected the continuation of surface wind activity, sea turbulence, and high waves on the southern parts of the western coasts and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.

In its weather bulletin, the center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, sick people, and workers during the night and early morning hours, to take the necessary precautions to prevent the effects of the cold.
