Israel requests additional squadron of F-35 aircraft from US
QUDS, Jan. 04 (YPA) – Minister of Defense of the Israeli occupation, Benny Gantz, said on Monday that Tel Aviv has requested to purchase an additional squadron of “F-35” fighter jets from the United States to ensure its military supremacy in the region.
“At the present we have two squadrons from the F-35. I think we will expand on that. This is what I requested from the Americans. I would like to buy another squadron of the F-35,” he added in a statement to Israeli ‘Y-Net’ television.
The Israeli move comes after an American-Emirati agreement, according to which Abu Dhabi will acquire 50 F-35s.
Gantz had signed an agreement with Washington, which guarantees the American strategic commitment to preserving the security supremacy of Israel in the Middle East.
Months ago, Gantz warned of the spread of the “F-35”, saying that “it is not good for Israel that the plane goes around in other places, and we have to talk to the Emiratis and Americans and assure our security interests.”
