Leader of Transitional Militia survived assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, Dec. 24 (YPA) – The leader of the Transitional Militia, Waddah Omar Abdel Aziz, survived an assassination attempt in Aden, two days after he was dismissed from the position of commander of the so-called Security Belt forces in Lahj.
Sources said that the leader Waddah Omar Abdel Aziz was subjected to an assassination attempt in the Corniche, and that his companions responded to the gunmen who ambushed him.
The commander of the support forces, Mohsen Al-Wali, had dismissed Waddah Abdulaziz from his post under the pretext of appointing his deputy without referring to him.
The sources added that the sacking of Waddah Abdulaziz and the attempt to assassinate him reveal a struggle of wings within the STC militia.
Wadah Abdulaziz is the son of Abu Dhabi-based writer, Omar Abdulaziz.
