Health Minister rejects UN offer about conjoined twins

SANAA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Minister of Health, Taha Al-Mutawakel, rejected on Sunday the offer provided by the United Nations to transport the conjoined twins for treatment in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Mutawakel told Almasirah TV that, “The United Nations should play its role in transporting the conjoined twin children outside Yemen, not offer us to transfer them to the so-called King Salman Center, in an attempt to collude with the countries of Saudi-led coalition and their siege imposed on the Yemeni people.”

The minister was surprised by the promotion played by the UN towards those who impose the siege on the Yemeni people, pointing out that the Yemeni people have the right to seek treatment in countries that do not participate in the aggressive war.

Meanwhile, the head of the al-Sabeen hospital where the conjoined twin were born said they were in a critical condition and needed to surgery abroad.
