Chinese army pursues American warship

BEIJING, Dec. 19 (YPA) -The Chinese army announced Saturday that it had detected and tracked a US warship as it was passing through Taiwan Strait, considering that tasks with this nature send “flirting looks” to supporters of Taiwan independence.

In a statement issued by the Eastern Region Command, the Chinese army revealed that “its air and naval forces tracked and monitored the ship while it was sailing.”

For its part, the US Navy indicated that the destroyer “USS Mastin”, armed with guided missiles, “routinely crossed the Taiwan Strait on December 19, in accordance with international law.”

“The passage of the ship in the Taiwan Strait indicates the American commitment to free and open passage in the region,” the US Navy said.

It is worth noting that this sailing is the twelfth sailing of the US Navy in the strait this year.
