Islah militants shell STC positions in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 11 (YPA) – Islah militants on Friday night launched heavy shelling on the positions of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias ahead of their withdrawal from the Abyan front, local sources said.

According to informed local sources, Islah militants shelled the STC’s positions with a number of artillery and mortar shells in the Al-Tariya front, leaving several dead and wounded.

The sources indicated that the artillery bombardment also hit the areas of Wadi Al-Sali.

Loyalists  to the STC accused the Saudi committee of failing to implement the withdrawal plan between the two sides, amid expectations by observers that the clashes between the Islah and the STC will move to the gates of Aden.
