Aden city plunges into darkness

ADEN, Dec. 7 (YPA) – The occupied southern port city of Aden on Monday lived in a complete darkness after all power plants were shut down.

“The system got out of service, a few hours ago suddenly without mentioning the reasons,” said sources working at the city’s electricity company, adding that technical teams are in the process of identifying the defect slack in preparation for the restoration of service to the residents.

They added that the electricity system was out on Sunday, due to the run out of diesel and resumed work after supplying about 400 tons of refineries in Aden.

The sources explained that the amount of diesel supplied to the plants is not equal to a quarter of the daily allocation of diesel power plants.

Aden province is experiencing a continuing deterioration in electricity services, amid false promises by the coalition to reform the electricity system after it took control of the city in 2015, which has now reached its worst stage in various services.
