Health Minister, int’l orgs discuss health situation in Yemen

SANAA, May 22 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha al-Mutawakel discussed on Monday evening, during separate meetings with representative of World Health Organization (WHO) and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) missions, the worsening health situation in Yemen.

The meetings touched on enhancing cooperation between the ministry and the organizations with regard to combating epidemics and developing the emergency services in hospitals.

Dr. Al-Mutawakel condemned Saudi-led coalition attacks on the MSF-backed centers and hospitals.

He reiterated his ministry’s readiness to facilitate all difficulties facing the work of the humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen to contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens, especially in light of the ongoing aggression and siege.
