US COVID-19 death toll tops 272,000

SANAA, Dec. 3 (YPA) – The US set a fresh record for hospitalizations with the coronavirus illness COVID-19 on Wednesday, and the death toll climbed above 270,000.

According to Johns Hopkins University, the US has recorded 2,733 new deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

This is the largest daily death toll since the outbreak in the United States, according to the Covid-19 tracking project

Infection cases have crossed the 195,000 new in the country.

In the same context, the number of people infected with the new Coronavirus receiving in-patient treatment in the United States on Wednesday exceeded the threshold of 100,000 patients, in another record toll.

The US Covid-19 Tracking Observatory confirmed that there are currently 100,226 corona patients receiving treatment in hospitals in the United States.

It  noted that this is the first time that the number of hospitalizations has exceeded the 100,000 thresholds.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared 19 epidemics globally since March 11, and so far, more than 64.4 million people have been infected with the virus worldwide, and 1.49 million deaths, according to estimates by Johns Hopkins University.
