SANAA, Nov. 30 (YPA) – A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the Kingdom of Tonga in the Pacific Ocean.
The US Geological Survey confirmed on Monday that the quake occurred at a depth of 74.7 km, and 153 km southwest of the city of Hihview.
The American Authority indicated that the earthquake that occurred at exactly “23:56:59” Greenwich Mean Time on Sunday, struck at longitude (174.732) west, and latitude (17.011).
The US Geological Survey stated that no tsunami waves are expected as a result of the earthquake.
