US occupation troops bring out 50 military vehicles towards Iraqi territories

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – The US occupation forces on Sunday brought out a convey of armored vehicles and tanks through Al-Walid crossing point towards Iraqi territories, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

According to SANA, a convey consisting of 50 armored vehicles and tanks affiliated to the US occupation forces left Al-Walid crossing point  and headed towards Iraqi areas amid tight measures along the route of the military convoy.

The US forces and allied SDF control most of the oil fields in the Syrian island region of Hasaka and Deir ez-Zor provinces.

The Syrian authorities accused the United States of “smuggling and looting  Syrian oil abroad to deprive Syrians of it in flagrant violation of international law.”

In late 2019, President Donald Trump endorsed a plan to withdraw his country’s troops previously deployed in Syria, but later decided, as a result of pressure from members of his administration, to keep some 1,000 troops to secure U.S. control of the oil fields captured in the northeast.
