UAE sends military reinforcements to Socotra

SOCOTRA, Nov. 5 (YPA) – The UAE forcews sent on Thursday new military reinforcements to Socotra island, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources affirmed that a UAE plane carrying foreign soldiers and mercenaries arrived at the airport in conjunction with the docking of a ship in the port of “Hulaf” carrying equipment on board.

The Emirates new moves coincided with the start of a massive military deployment of the southern transitional council forces in steps aimed at suppressing any popular protests against the UAE presence.

An Emirates intelligence cell had arrived during the past two days, led by the retired officer Mohammed Arhmah and two others.
