NCM expects cold wave on Yemeni provinces

SANAA, Nov. 2 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected on Monday a cold wave hitting most of Yemeni provinces.

The center affirmed in its weather forecast that the weather would be very cold and dry in the mountainous heights in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda, Dheale and Ibb, in addition to high areas of Taiz, Lahj and Abyan.

The weather in the coastal areas is to be clear to partly cloudy with light rain likely to occur on the eastern coast, and the southerly moderate to strong winds reach its speed from 15 to 24 knots on the western coast and Bab al-Mandab.

While the eastern and southern coasts and the Gulf of Aden would be targeted by moderate to active winds with speed ranging from 15 to 20 knots.

According to the center, the weather in Socotra Archipelago will be clear to partly cloudy with the possibility of scattered rain, and moderate to active winds reaching its speed of 13 to 18 knots.

The center warned farmers and citizens, especially the elderly and children, of the cold wave during the night and early morning.
