SANAA, Nov. 2 (YPA) – A magnitude 5.0 earthquake on Monday hit off the eastern coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula.
The agency “Sputnik” quoted a spokesman for the local branch of the geophysical service of the Russian Academy of Sciences as saying: The earthquake of magnitude 5 occurred in the Pacific region off the eastern coast of Kamchatka, Monday morning local time, and its epicenter was at a depth of 11 kilometers and a distance 25 kilometers east of the village of Ust Kamchatka.
The Kamchatka Peninsula is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is a region that extends in the form of a broad arc and witnesses great seismic and volcanic activity.
