Judicial-security meeting in Sanaa discusses justice system performance

SANAA, Nov. 1 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Ahmed Yahya Al-Mutawakel, chaired on Sunday in Sanaa a meeting with senior Judicial and security leaders to discuss the functioning of the justice system and enhancing the rule of law.

At the meeting, Judge Al-Mutawakel urged the law enforcement and judicial agencies to play their constitutional and legal role in providing security and public tranquility, each within the scope of its competence, appreciating the efforts made in this regard.

In this regard, the formation of a coordination committee on issues of common interest was approved in order to facilitate the exchange of information between the law enforcement and judicial authorities to ensure settling citizens’ cases through quick legal procedures.

It was stressed on the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination between all organs of the justice system to enhance and ensure the rule of law.

The meeting also touched on the aspects related to the conduct of criminal justice and the situation of prisoners’ cases before the courts, prosecution offices or security agencies.
