EU Commissioner announces his entry into self-isolation

SANAA, Oct. 14 (YPA) – The European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell announced that he entered self-isolation after it was revealed that an escort had contracted the Coronavirus during his visit to Ethiopia.

Borrell wrote on “Twitter”, that after a trip to Ethiopia last week, a member of his accompanying delegation tested positive for the Corona virus.

He said: “The results of the tests that were conducted for me after my return from Ethiopia were all negative … I will isolate myself according to the current regulations and I will wait for the second test.”

Borrell participated, last Thursday, in a seminar at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, which discussed the role of the media in promoting the silencing of guns in Africa, supporting democratic transformation, and refuting false news and hate speech.

He also visited a camp for the displaced, which houses about 80,000 displaced people, and supervised the provision of medical aid from the European Union.
