STC prosecutes detainees in Bir Ahmad prison

ADEN, Oct. 8 (YPA) – A leaked video footage revealed that the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC) held undisclosed trial sessions for military personnel loyal to Hadi’s government.

Turkey-based Balqees TV reported that it  had obtained a leaked video revealing a mass trial session in the southern Yemeni city of Aden for a number of Hadi military commander kidnapped by the UAE-backed STC’s security forces.

Huda al-Sarari, head of the Defense Foundation for Rights and Freedoms has posted a video footage, on her Twitter account, showing part of the trial sessions of detainees in Aden, who have been arrested in connection with terrorism cases, allegedly claimed by the UAE-backed militias for several years and then shown in Bir Ahmed detention center  be tried.

During the trial, the victims revealed the extent of the cruel treatment and torture to which they were subjected.

“Some of the detainees in Bir Ahmed do not have any files or records of collecting evidence to this day and are considered to be hidden and the prosecution refuses to investigate them, al-Sarari said, pointing out that they were not referred to the Criminal Court. This proves that they were arrested without charging them, as shown by most of them who participated in the so-called resistance.

She indicated that most of those arrested were released for lack of evidence or they were not guilty, and some were charged under pressure and threats.

The activist called on the Criminal Court in Aden to carry out its duty uncover things because it is a moral and national responsibility.

The detainees  are subjected to enforced disappearance and severe torture in coalition prisons in Bir Ahmed Adan for more than two and a half years ago.
