12 bodies found inside Trucks in northern Mexico

SANAA, Oct. 6 (YPA) – Mexican authorities on Monday discovered 12 bodies inside two trucks parked in the north-central part of the country, prosecutors in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí said Monday.

The bodies of 10 men and two women were found on a road near Villa de Ramos, 600 kilometers north of Mexico City.

According to the prosecution’s statement, experts are working to identify the bodies and reveal the cause of their  death.

They also fund a message written on cardboard and left at the site, which referred to a criminal organization.

More than 36,000 homicides were recorded in Mexico last year, the vast majority attributed to organized crime.

From January 2020 to August, 411 people were killed in San Luis Potosí, according to official data, a 43% increase over the same period in 2019.

For more than a decade, the Mexican Government has tried to contain the increasing cartel violence with large military and police operations, yet organized crime groups have expanded their presence in the country.
