At the inauguration, Dr. Maqbouli indicated that the launch of this scheme comes under the auspices of President Mahdi Al-Mashat and coincides with the celebrations of the Yemeni revolutions holidays, September 21, September 26 and October 14.

“Developing the general scheme for Great Sanaa comes after the success of Saada province scheme, in which the completion rate has reached 90 percent,” Dr. Maqbouli said.

He called on the concerned authorities to speed up implementation of the urban scheme project on the ground, confirming the government’s readiness to support the project.

“We will follow up its implementation with great interest until it is implemented on the ground,” he said.

Dr. Maqbouli referred that the first scheme for the capital Sanaa was outlined in 1975 by a French company.
