UAE gives Islah one day to remove military points from Balhaf

SHABWA, Sep. 28 (YPA) – The so-called “Shabwani Elite” militia affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Monday issued a strong warning to Islah Party’s militants, giving them 48 hours to remove military points off Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, media sources reported.

The coastal area of Balhaf in Shabwa has been witnessing military tensions between the Islah party militants and the UAE-backed militias, for the second week in a row.

The UAE strengthened the presence of the “Shabwani Elite” militia in the port of Balhaf, which turned into a training camp for the STC’s militia.

In August 2019, Islah was able to expel the STC militia from Ataq, the capital of Shabwa.
