Yemeni army takes control over strategic mountain in Marib

MARIB, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Yemeni army forces and popular committees on Sunday liberated most important mountains overlooking Marib city and Sahan al-Jin military camp

According to local sources in Marib province, Yemeni army forces and popular committees were able to make new military achievements and move further towards Marib from the north-west of the city.

The sources said that Sana’a forces fought fierce battles against coalition forces, al-Islah militias and al-Qaeda and ISIS elements, on the outskirts of the northwestern of the city.

Moreover, they also were able to advance from Medghal district and a drop-off point towards the strategic “Dosh al-Khashab” mountain, and to control it after the coalition forces fled their sites.

The sources confirmed, that the importance of the “Dosh al-Khashab”  mountain lies in the fact that it overlooks the city and the camp of the coalition forces in the area of Sahan al-Jin where the mountain is away from the government complex in Marib city not more than 15 kilometers.
