SANAA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center expected on Wednesday a gradual decline in the mass of dust and an improvement in the horizontal visibility over most of the desert, mountainous and plateau areas as well as coastal over the next 24 hours.
The center said that large areas of the country were affected by a widespread mass of dust that originated in the northeastern Arabian Peninsula, which included the desert areas of Hadramout, Jawf, Shabwa, Saada and Marib governorates.
Parts of the interior plateaus and mountain heights, as well as parts of the eastern, southern and western coasts also were affected by the mass of dust.
The center called on citizens, especially children, the elderly, and those with chest diseases not to be directly exposed to dust and dirt, as they are harmful to public health.
The center also warned vehicle drivers of the decrease in the horizontal visibility in desert, mountainous areas and inland hills, calling on fishermen and sea goers to take precautions and beware of high waves and sea turbulence around Socotra archipelago.
