Al-Faisal: My father would have been frustrated by the UAE’s agreement with Israel

SANAA, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Prince Turki al-Faisal, the son of the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, said his father would have been frustrated if he had heard of the UAE and Bahrain’s normalization agreement with the Israeli occupation.

Prince Turki, in response to a question from the American CNBC announcer Hadley Gamble on whether his father, King Faisal, would be disappointed by the peace agreement signed between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel, without finding a solution. for the Palestinians within the framework of the two-state solution.

The former Saudi intelligence chief added: “This is to my knowledge of his commitment to obtain a clearly defined and enforceable agreement between Israel and the Arab countries.”

Al-Faisal reminded the broadcaster of his father’s decision to cut oil to the West in 1973, and said his decision (King Faisal) to cut oil to the United States after the Americans decided to increase their helping Israel in the Ramadan War, it was due to forcing the United States to be an honest broker between Israel and the Arab world.

He stressed that President Trump was not an honest broker and reiterated that his father would have been frustrated by the agreement.

Yesterday, al-Faisal defended the normalization of Bahrain and the UAE, calling it a sovereign principle.

“The signing of the peace treaty stems from a sovereign principle,” al-Faisal told The Emirates’ Sky News Arabia channel.

“Israel must respond to Arab initiatives calling for peace, and stopping the annexation of land in the West Bank paves the way for a return to talks between the Palestinians and Israel,” he added.

It is noteworthy that King Faisal ruled between 1664 and 1975, when he was assassinated by Prince Faisal bin Musaid.
