TAIZ, May 17 (YPA) – The Yemeni army was able to thwart Saudi-led coalition forces and its militias’ plan which is aimed to separate Western Taiz province from the West Coast, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.
According to military sources, the Yemeni army defeated Saudi-backed militias who were hired to carry out what so-called “Red Thunder” operation in Al-Amari, Khahbob square, Thoubab, and Khadaha west of Mokha city.
Despite intensive air coverage, the Yemeni army managed to destroy a number of tanks, vehicles and armored vehicles, the military sources added.
The official confirmed that dozens of militias were killed and others injured, including senior field commanders from Tariq Afash and others in the attacks.
According to local sources, the amphibious mechanisms fled for fear of being targeted by guided missiles.
