SANAA, Sept. 12 (YPA) – At least four leaders of Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group were killed in an ambush set up by Iraqi security forces on Friday night, south of Samarra.
“A joint force of the Commando Brigade of Samarra operations command, the Peace Brigades and through a tight ambush, managed to kill four of the most important leaders of the ISIS terrorist gangs,” said the Security Media Cell of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command.
“Two of them were wearing explosive belts” and the operation was carried out in the al-Farhatiya area south of Samarra, the security media added.
Iraqi forces have recently intensified their operations in a number of provinces against the group’s leaders and elements.
