Court in Sanaa sentences Al-Qaeda convict to death, 19 others to prison terms

SANAA, Sept. 2 (YPA) – The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital Sanaa on Wednesday convicted 20 accused of participating in an armed gang of Al-Qaeda organization in what is known as “Taiz cell”, sentencing one of them to death.

The rest of the terrorist cell members were sentenced to prison terms ranging from five to 10 years.

The court based its judgment on the physical evidence, official reports, and confessions of the convicts submitted by the criminal prosecution.
