New hurricane to hit Yemeni southern coast, Socotra

SANAA, May 15 (YPA) – A strong tropical hurricane is expected to hit the Yemeni Island of Socotra during the coming days, international meteorological centers have reported.

The European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) predicted a disturbance in the Arabian Sea, and that the southern coast of Yemen would be hit by a tropical storm accompanied by heavy rain.

The hurricane is expected to hit the island during the next two weeks, according to the “Windy” application.
