State of emergency declared in Texas

SANAA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in Texas due to hurricanes Marco and Laura threatening the region.

Under the resolution, Trump instructed the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Agency to coordinate efforts to provide emergency assistance to residents in the affected areas and protect their property.

Federal authorities will bear 75% of the cost of relief and relief work in the state.

US media reports said Hurricane Marco had receded on Monday, while forecasts suggested that Hurricane Laura could hit the Gulf of Mexico coast on Wednesday or Thursday.

The US authorities considered Hurricane Laura as a life-threatening” and began preparing for the disaster, as residents were evacuated from the area.
