Fire breaks out followed by explosion in ammunition factory in Sudan

SANAA, Aug 15 (YPA) – A fire broke out inside a warehouse on Friday evening, followed by an explosion in an ammunition factory in Al Shajarah military area in Sudan.
According to the Sudanese News Agency “Sona”, the explosion was limited, and it was controlled.

An informed source said that the explosion did not result in any casualties.

In a statement issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Interior, it confirmed that the weapon store in which the explosion occurred belongs to the armed forces in Al-Shajarah, south of Khartoum.

The statement continued that the fire was extinguished by 6 vehicles belonging to the Sudanese Civil Defense Forces.

The statement indicated that the explosion coincided with the presence of fireworks in the sky of Khartoum, and that the authorities are working to count the losses and determine the causes
