Turkey accuses UAE of practicing intrigue

ANKARA, Aug. 13 (YPA) – The advisor to the Turkish President, Yasin Aktay, on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the UAE, accusing Abu Dhabi of engaging in intrigue, games and systematic campaigns.

Aktay said, in an article published in the Turkish newspaper “Yenisafak”, that the UAE is taking a hostile stance against his country, which has nothing to do with morals and does not recognize rules.

He accused the UAE of adopting a policy against Turkey at all levels, thinking that it is trying to block the road ahead of it, stressing that Turkey is trying, through its most humane and positive policies, to rein in these immoral and illegal movements.

The UAE has imposed a blockade and sanctions on Qatar because of its commercial relations with Iran, but according to data by the Iranian Customs Organization, the volume of trade exchange between the UAE and Iran reached $ 13.5 billion, he added.

He continued: “We hope that this cooperation will develop more and more. We have no problem with that.. But why is Qatar only blamed and punished for that? ”

Under the title “UAE friendship is more dangerous than its enmity,” Aktay wrote, criticizing this striking contradiction in the methodology of the UAE relations, wondering about the type of loyalty and friendship the UAE can enjoy towards its most important Saudi ally.

Turkey accuses the UAE of being involved in the failed military coup attempt in mid-2016 against the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bahrain, is allied against Turkish influence in several regions, the most important of which are Libya and Syria.
