Angry protests continue in Aden against basic services collapse

ADEN, Aug. 13 (YPA) – Angry protests continued on Thursday in the city of Aden, “southern Yemen, for fifth straight day, denouncing the collapse of basic services in the city, according to sources.

The sources said that dozens of angry citizens cut off all streets in Crater area, leading to the Water Corporation, in protest against cutting off the drinking water to their homes two months ago.

The protesters raised the empty pots of the waters and slogans demanding accountability for corrupt officials, stressing that the current situation had not happened in the city’s history.

Additionally, “The protesters set fire to tires to express their anger and placed stones at the main entrances to the city, blocking the passage of hundreds of cars.”
