STC’s delegation refuses to return to Riyadh

ADEN, Aug. 11 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s delegation refused on Tuesday to return back to Riyadh to resume negotiations with Hadi government.

Diplomatic sources revealed that the STC has set new conditions in favor of the UAE, including that its troops do not leave Aden and that the situation in Socotra remains unchanged.

This comes despite being lured by Saudi Arabia to hand over Aden politically.

Saudi Arabia has been trying for days to bring the STC delegation to Riyadh, which left before Eid al-Adha with the support of the United Arab Emirates.

The STC’s demands came ahead of the resumption of negotiations with Hadi and Al-Islah,  They demand the return of the situation in Socotra until before June, when Saudi Arabia handed over the island to UAE forces.
