STC overthrows governor of Shabwah

SHABWAH, Aug. 10 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias were able to overthrow “Shabwah Governor” in Hadi government, Mohammad Saleh bin Adio, loyalist to the al-Islah party, Media sources reported on Monday .

According to Pro-STC media, the STC conditioned in the implementation of the political aspect of the Riyadh negotiations, between the council and the “Hadi government” by changing bin Adio, and the nomination of the leader Nasser Mohammed al-Qamishi, who is a deputy to the province as his successor.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE were able to impose al- Qamishi in the “Hadi government”, without any opposition from the transitional.

According to the sources, Saudi Arabia is pushing the military events in rich- oil province, to repeat the scenario of Socotra Island, handing over the province to the STC militias, and that what is happening is just political and military implications.

In August 2019, al-Islah militants expelled the militias of the so-called “Shabwah elite” from the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwah, following violent clashes in the city.
